Chris Christensen, Vice President at Neis Insurance Agency, was elected to the Cary Elementary District 26 school board in this year’s April 9 election.

Chris, a Cary resident, won the most votes in his crowded race of eight candidates for four available positions. As one of six newcomers running, he came out of the election with a total of 1,521 votes. Realizing that District 26 faces a unique set of challenges, Chris is now ready to face the school district’s issues head-on.

“I am really looking forward to working as part of a team because really that’s the only way this district can move forward,” said Christensen. “In this new position, my priorities are providing a sound educational foundation, promoting fiscal responsibility and championing special subjects and improved communication.”

Chris and his wife Renee have two children, one of whom is a student at Deer Path Elementary School. As a father and local businessman, he feels well prepared for the duties of his elected position and is eager to make a positive impact in the lives of the students, teachers, school board and fellow community members.
