Tom Neis, owner of Neis Insurance Agency, was recently appointed to the Governing Committee of the Illinois Automobile Insurance Plan (ILAIP).

Tom was named by Illinois Director of Insurance Andrew Boron as a public member of the Committee for a one-year term. Selected from a list of candidates jointly prepared by the Governing Committee and the staff at the Illinois Insurance Department, Tom is one of only two public members on the Committee.

“I was pleased to be asked to provide a front-line perspective and practical approach to regulation on insurance programs for the state, using over 20 years of experience in the industry,” said Tom Neis.

ILAIP was created in 1940 to provide automobile insurance coverage to those eligible risks who are unable to obtain coverage in the voluntary market. All insurers writing automobile insurance in Illinois are required to participate in the ILAIP by subscribing to the Plan. The Plan is administered by the Governing Committee.
